Self Drive Tours Operators in Uganda

Uganda has got a number of tour operators located in the different areas and this inspired me to make research about them before my journey to Uganda for a self drive tour.  As I was surfing on the different website, there I got 4×4 Car Hire Uganda one of the best tour companies in Uganda. Jackie being an exceptional tour consultant, she advised us on how we were to travel while on a self drive in Uganda.

we had to tour three main national parks of Murchison Falls, Kidepo valley national park and the Mountain Elgon National park. In our engagement with the company, we were advised to book the permits, reserve hotels from the three parks, how to access a self drive vehicle and even how to access a visa on arrival. Due to their trustworthiness and even the esteem they have towards clients, we sent them money to do all those described requirements on our behalf such that by the time we arrived to Uganda every necessity was cleared and for real this smoothened our journeys.

We were eight people so this was the same company which hired us a 4×4 Safari Land Cruiser which had a an open roof top which enabled some of my colleagues to take photos of the different animals and primates in the game parks we went to. This was hired to us at $200 USD per day. On arrival to Uganda at Entebbe airport we were given our car after signing an agreement and our booking receipt copies and permits as we had agreed with them and we proceeded to our destinations.

Our self drive tours in Uganda takes you to Uganda National parks and they start from Entebbe airport to Murchison Falls national park which is located in the north west of Kampala which approximately took us 5hours on the way to the park. But adjacent to the park is the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where the endangered rhinos are taken care of, since we reached in at midday to the park, we first went for our lunch at Paraa Safari Lodge which is in the heart of the park.

At exactly 2pm, we were already at the park headquarters for a launch trip on river Nile, this activity was charged us at $30 USD per person, this gave us a stunning view of the different wild animals and a frontal view of the falls down the streams, on the boat, we also go an added advantage of watching birds such as grey heron, Widow birds, Marabou stork, secretary birds and the Cuckoos as they were on the river line sides.

This activity lasted for 3hours as we were enjoying beers and sodas at the boat. We went back the hotel where we slept and early in the morning after tea, we embarked on our second activity of game driving charged at $20 with most of the experienced rangers from the park, during this we observed and took photos of buffaloes, leopards, lions, elephants, reedbucks, warthogs and herds of kobs as they were enjoying their habitat in search for food and also exercising their bodies.
