Every day people from around the world visit Bwindi to see mountain gorillas & other rare wildlife, and return home motivated to do something to help local people, inspired by the optimism and mutual support that they encounter. Many more would like to find a way to provide direct support to communities living in poverty.
There are several community based tourism organizations that work hard to improve their future prospects, build the capacity and provide long term benefits to the local communities living near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. It is advised to spare some time and visit some of the local community projects that are run by local people, working in partnership with organizations around Bwindi. After your gorilla trek, you can also share your time and resources to provide holistic and flexible support to the local communities.
